Systems for Food Trucks

Today's stop, today's menu, and an easy way to book you for events.

Your location changes daily, the menu changes when the brisket runs out, and much of the year's work can come from catering gigs booked weeks ahead. Social posts are great for buzz but they scroll away. We build food trucks a simple site with today's spot, the menu and a catering form up front, one you can update from your phone in the window, whether it's your first season or your fifteenth.

Common challenges

What slows down Food Trucks

Challenge 1

This week's stops scroll away

You posted the schedule on Monday, and by Thursday the story has expired. Regulars start messaging to ask where you are, usually right in the middle of the lunch rush.

Challenge 2

Catering leads in five different inboxes

Wedding planners email, offices DM, someone calls during service. Dates, headcounts and budgets get spread across apps, and it's easy for a lovely private booking to slip through while you're cooking.

Challenge 3

Sold out, but the menu online says you've got it

Someone drives across town for the birria and it sold out at 12:40. When the online menu is a few months old, it's hard to keep expectations in line with what's actually on the board.

Challenge 4

Festival organizers can't find your specs

Event coordinators want your truck length, power needs, propane setup and permit details. When all of that sits in one place, booking you becomes an easy yes.

Challenge 5

Hard to find in 'food trucks near me'

Without a website and a complete Google profile, it's tough to show up when office workers nearby are hunting for lunch.

The solution

The system we'd build for you

01

Today's spot, up top

A live schedule block with this week's stops, hours and a map link, that you update from your phone in under a minute. Repeat stops can save as templates.

02

Menu you can actually keep current

Your core menu plus a 'today's specials' line and a sold-out toggle, so the site doesn't promise what's already gone.

03

Order-ahead link

If you use an order-ahead tool or a POS like Square, we link or embed it so regulars can skip the line. If you'd rather keep a simple line, we leave it off.

04

Catering and events inquiry form

Date, location, headcount, service style and budget range in one form that lands in your email, so private bookings stop scattering across apps.

05

Event organizer page

Truck dimensions, power and setup notes, a downloadable photo pack and your permit details, so festivals can book you without a dozen emails.

06

Google profile that matches the truck

Set up the right way for a mobile business, with hours, photos and a link back to your live schedule.

Website Only

A food truck's website mainly needs to tell hungry people where you are today and what's on the board. A quick, focused site with your schedule, menu and catering form usually does more than anything fancier.

Wherever you are

Just starting, growing or decades in.

Whether you haven't opened yet or you've been at it for decades, here's how we'd help at each stage.

Stage 1

Starting out

Just an idea, or brand new

Still fitting out the truck? Start Your Company covers the pieces you'd otherwise juggle between commissary visits: a name and wrap-ready logo files, your web address, social handles and a catering form that's live before opening day.

Stage 2

Growing

Busy and getting busier

When festivals and office lunches start calling, an organizer page and a proper catering form let you say yes to more without losing track of dates.

Stage 3

Established

Years or decades in

If you've been a fixture at the same corners for years, we keep it simple: your regulars still find you the way they always have, with a site that finally keeps pace with the schedule.

An example

What it could look like in real life

An illustration of how it could work. The business and details are made up for the example.

Picture a taco truck doing a lunch rotation through downtown Halifax and Dartmouth, with weekend brewery gigs out in Bedford. Every morning the stop goes up on Instagram and people still message asking where it is. We build a two-page site with this week's schedule at the very top, a menu with a sold-out switch, and a catering form for weddings and office lunches. The day's stop gets updated from a phone during prep. Catering requests show up in one inbox with the date and headcount already filled in.

Questions we get

FAQ

Can I update my location from my phone?

Yes. That's the whole design. We give you a simple way to change the day's stop and hours from your phone without touching any code.

Do I need online ordering?

Only if you want it. Lots of trucks do well with a line. If you already use an order-ahead tool, we connect it where it allows, and if not, the site works nicely without it.

Is a website useful for a truck in winter?

Often, yes. Winter is when catering, office lunches and holiday parties carry many trucks, and the catering form keeps working even while the truck is parked.
