Systems for Music Teachers

A calm home online for your studio, and fewer back-and-forth texts.

Your teaching day runs from 3:30 to 8:00, back to back, and inquiries tend to land in the middle of someone's scales. Parents want to know what you teach, what ages, whether you prep for RCM exams and if you have a Tuesday spot. We build music teachers a professional site that answers those questions and lets families join your waitlist at any hour.

Common challenges

What slows down Music Teachers

Challenge 1

"Do you have any openings for a seven-year-old?"

You get this by text, email, Facebook and a note at the grocery store. You have no openings this term, but you'd love them for September, and there's nowhere to put them so they don't get lost.

Challenge 2

Studio policies that need repeating every fall

Makeup lessons, missed-lesson rules, tuition by term or by month, snow days. A document attached to an email is easy to miss, so you end up explaining it again in September.

Challenge 3

Your qualifications deserve to be seen

You've got your training, years of exam prep and students who've grown with you. A parent searching for lessons can't see any of that unless it's somewhere easy to find.

Challenge 4

Recital season eats your evenings

Date, venue, dress code, arrival time, which piece each student plays. When it goes out in several emails, it's easy for a family to miss a detail.

Challenge 5

Adult beginners aren't sure you'd teach them

Retirees picking up cello, a parent finally learning guitar. They'd love lessons too, and a few words on your site tell them they're welcome.

The solution

The system we'd build for you

01

A studio site that sounds like you

Who you teach, which instruments, your approach (exam track, casual, or both), lesson lengths and where you teach: home studio, their home, or online.

02

Waitlist and trial-lesson form

Families pick an instrument, the student's age, experience and preferred days. It lands in your inbox as a clean summary instead of a vague 'hey, are you taking students?'

03

A studio policies page parents actually read

Tuition structure, makeup lesson rules, cancellation notice, books and materials, written in plain English and linkable in every welcome email.

04

Exam and festival section

What RCM or Conservatory Canada exam prep looks like with you, how theory fits in, and what festival season involves, so serious families know you're serious.

05

Booking link, if you want one

If you already use a studio management app, we link or embed it where the tool allows. Prefer to schedule by hand? The form does the job.

06

Google profile and reviews

Your home studio set up properly on Google (with your exact address hidden if you'd rather), plus a simple way for happy parents to leave a review.

Recommended package

Website Only

A home studio or a one-teacher practice needs to be findable, look legit to parents and answer the same five questions before the phone rings. That's a simple site, not software.

Wherever you are

Just starting, growing or decades in.

Whether you haven't opened yet or you've been at it for decades, here's how we'd help at each stage.

Stage 1

Starting out

Just an idea, or brand new

Starting a home studio or leaving a music school to teach on your own? Start Your Company handles the launch details, from a studio name and logo to your site, email and Google listing, so you can focus on building a roster.

Stage 2

Growing

Busy and getting busier

With a full Tuesday-to-Thursday roster, the waitlist form and a clear policies page carry most of the admin, and recital details have one home families can bookmark.

Stage 3

Established

Years or decades in

Teachers with decades of students and a long word-of-mouth waitlist often just want a dignified, accurate home online. We keep it calm and simple, and families who've known you for years will find nothing confusing about it.

An example

What it could look like in real life

An illustration of how it could work. The business and details are made up for the example.

Say you teach piano and theory out of a converted basement studio in Moncton. Families find you through word of mouth, then text you questions you've answered a hundred times. We build you a four-page site: about your teaching, lessons and ages, studio policies, and a waitlist form. Your Google profile shows your service area without printing your home address. When September comes around, you open your waitlist, not your messages app.

Questions we get

FAQ

I teach out of my house. Do I have to put my address online?

No. Google lets home-based businesses show a service area instead of a street address. We set it up that way and share the address only after a family books.

Can parents pay tuition through the site?

We can add a payment link from a tool like Square or Stripe if you'd like it. Plenty of teachers stick with e-transfer, and that's fine too. The site just explains how it works.

Should I list my rates?

We'd show lesson lengths and either your rates or a 'from' price per term. Families shopping for lessons want a ballpark, and listing it saves you awkward calls with people who were never going to sign up.
